With final exams right around the corner, a number of students at Academy of Our Lady of Peace will find themselves stress eating. These four, mouthwatering Nutella recipes will help an OLP student do just that.

Nutella Magic Shell

Ingredients:

  • (1) 13 oz. jar Nutella
  • (3) tablespoons of  Coconut Oil

Steps:

  1. Microwave both ingredients for 30 seconds or until melted.
  2. Stir the ingredients.
  3. Transfer to a sealed container or jar.
  4. Do NOT refrigerate.

Now for the magic…

Bippity Boppity Boo!

Pour the mix over ice cream, strawberries, popsicles, or other sweet treats and wait for the chocolate mix to harden.

Last but not least, enjoy!
Chocolate Mug Cake

Ingredients (makes one mug):

  • 1/4 cup Sunbeam Macadamia Meal
  • (2) tablespoons Dutch cocoa powder
  • (2) tablespoons caster sugar
  • (1) 1/2 tablespoons coconut oil, at room temperature
  • (1) egg
  • (1) tablespoon milk
  • (1) tablespoon Nutella
  • Vanilla ice-cream, to serve

Steps:

  1. Combine the Sunbeam Macadamia Meal, cocoa powder, and sugar in a medium sized bowl. Add the coconut oil, egg, and milk and mix until smooth. Spoon 3/4 of the mixture into a 1 1/4 cups (310ml) capacity microwave safe mug. Spoon the Nutella into the centre and cover with the remaining cake mixture.
  2. Microwave for 1 minute.
  3. Top it with a delicious vanilla ice cream scoop and enjoy!

French Toast and Fruit Skewers with Nutella Sauce

Ingredients:

  • (2) eggs, lightly whisked
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • (2) tsp caster sugar
  • 20g butter
  • 1/2 small baguette, cut into 3 cm-pieces
  • 1/4 cup chocolate hazelnut spread aka Nutella
  • 1 1/2 tbs milk
  • (1) large ripe banana, cut into 2cm pieces
  • (8) strawberries

Steps:

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, and sugar together in a shallow bowl.
  2. (French toast) Melt half the butter in a large frying pan over medium heat until foaming. Dip a bread cube into egg mixture to coat. Allow excess to drain from bread. Add to frying pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with remaining bread and egg mixture.
  3. Combine the chocolate spread and milk in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until heated through.
  4. Thread bread, banana, and strawberries evenly among 8 bamboo skewers. Drizzle with Nutella to serve. YUM!

Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • (2) cups all-purpose flour
  • (1) tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • (2) large eggs
  • (1) tsp vanilla
  • (1) cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nutella

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a stand or electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Continue to beat until well combined.
  2. Place flour and baking soda into a bowl; mix to combine then slowly add to wet ingredients and the chocolate chips.
  3. Scoop a large spoonful of dough and flatten it in the palm of your hand. Add some nutella in the middle. Then fold the cookie dough back up so that it seals and covers the nutella entirely.
  4. Bake for about 10-14 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
